MQS Security offers a number of burglar alarm and intruder detection systems tailored to your specific needs. With wide variety of brands that we utilize depending on customer request and needs.

Passive Infrared Detectors

A Passive Infrared burglar alarm reacts when a change of temperature passes through a background of a fixed temperature. A burglar alarm signals when the unit measures a change in energy caused by an intruder.

Magnetic Reed Switches

Used to protect storage spaces, garages and doors; a magnetic reed switch is a very effective way to protect an entrance. A sealed reed switch and magnet are paired together on either side of the protected entryway and upon their separation, an alarm will signal and the Security Response Centre will be notified of the intruder detection.

Glass Break Detectors

Glass break burglar alarms work by responding to the sound or shockwave produced by glass breaking. An alarm will signal when the unit recognises the distinct sound of glass breaking. It is important to note that equal coverage should be provided to all panes of glass to ensure maximum-security intruder detection.

Seismic Detectors

When used on vaults or safes, seismic detectors can provide a high level of security to protect against invasion. Also called vibration detectors, they react to energy expended by a structure when an intruder is attempting to gain entry. An alarm sensor can detect drilling of surfaces, or a hammer like impact on a ridged surface. A signal will then be sent to MQS Security's Alarm Response Centre.

Hold Up Burglar Alarms

This range of burglar alarms can include hold-up button, foot rail, money clip, remote or a panic button. All of these devices are kept in a discreet location; however MQS Security can immediately request police attendance upon receiving a signal of this nature.

Access control and Biometric Security

Access control can consist of card readers, key fobs as well as biometric scanners such as fingerprint and retina recognition. Access Control is often combined with CCTV Cameras or intercom to identify the movement of people or vehicles. Access Cards and Biometrics can be used to control the movement of people and vehicles into or out of an area or building.

Access Card Reader

Being similar in size to a credit card, an access card, also known as a proximity card, can identify individuals and allow access and egress to a pre-defined area by simply scanning the access card in front of the proximity card reader. The proximity card reader then analyses the data stored in the access cards and determines whether the user has authorised entry based on access level, date and/or time. The reader then stores the information and records the activity for future reference or reports.

This type of system can monitor individuals’ access, protect employees and provide full activity reports. As well as providing security, Access Card reports can also assist with Occupational Health and Safety issues and Performance Management. Access control software is password protected and allows administrator access to particular programs, networks and drives.

Biometric Security

Rather than using a physical access card to gain entry and exit from premises, Biometric security uses unique human characteristics to identify the person seeking entry to a controlled area. For example, a finger can be placed on a reader and the Biometrics Access Control system can identify the unique characteristics of the fingerprint. The Biometrics reader can then regulate entry permitting only authorisedusers access to an area. Biometric security can remove the worry involved with stolen, loaned or lost electronic access cards by using an individual's distinguishing features to prevent unauthorised access.
